Understanding ad revenue
Ad revenue comes down to one core idea: how much advertisers pay to reach 1,000 of your users. On mobile that number is called eCPM (effective cost per mille); on the web it’s called RPM (revenue per mille, per 1,000 pageviews). Multiply by your traffic and you have your revenue.
But the rate isn’t fixed. It swings with your ad format (rewarded video pays many times more than a banner), your audience geography (US and UK users are worth far more than emerging-market traffic), your category, and the network you monetize with. This calculator models all four.

How accurate is this ad revenue calculator?
It produces an informed estimate, not a guarantee. The eCPM and RPM figures are blended 2024–2025 industry benchmarks. Your real earnings depend on fill rate, seasonality, app quality, ad placement, and how engaged your users are — so treat the output as a realistic ballpark, then validate with your own live data.
What's the difference between eCPM and RPM?
eCPM is effective cost per 1,000 ad impressions and is the standard metric for mobile apps. RPM is revenue per 1,000 pageviews and is how web ad networks report earnings. Both normalise revenue to a per-thousand basis so you can compare placements and networks fairly.
Why does geography change my estimate so much?
Advertisers pay far more to reach users in Tier 1 countries (US, UK, Canada, Australia) than in many Asian, Latin American, or African markets. A US-heavy audience can earn several times the eCPM of an emerging-market audience for the exact same app, which is why the geographic mix slider has such a large effect.
Does iOS really pay more than Android?
Generally yes. iOS users tend to spend more and are considered higher-value by advertisers, so iOS eCPMs typically run around 30% higher than Android for comparable apps. This calculator applies that premium automatically when you select iOS.
Which ad network pays the most?
There's no single winner — it depends on your format mix, audience geography, and scale. Mediation platforms like AppLovin MAX often top the charts at scale because they auction every impression across many demand sources. Use the Compare Networks tab to rank every network for your specific settings.
